The town of Alhambra was named in the latter part of the 19th century, when one of the town’s prominent residents bought a large plot of land within the city’s current limits. The resident was urged by his 10-year old daughter to name it Alhambra, after a Washington Irving’s book The Alhambra, which she was reading at the time.
Alhambra’s location makes it a wonderful town to live in. Residents enjoy access to all the opportunities of a big city while living in a family-oriented and economically prosperous community. Los Angeles is full of fantastic opportunities for culture, entertainment, shopping and dining experiences. Alhambra is only a short distance from the world famous Getty Museum, Rodeo Drive, Mann’s Chinese Theatre and Disneyland, to name just a few of the Los Angeles area’s many attractions. Additionally, Alhambra residents also enjoy a very moderate climate, with most days filled with lots of Southern California sunshine. |
